James M. Kershner, age 86 formerly of Plain Township passed away Wednesday October 19, 2022, at Pebble Creek Nursing Home in Green. He was born October 12, 1936. in Akron to A. Raymond and Gertrude (Duncan) Kershner. James graduated in 1954 from Central High School in Akron and was a retired Insurance Agent.

Preceded in death by his wife Karen S. Kershner in 2011. Survivors include daughter, Jamie Weiland of Los Angeles, California; sons, Kenneth (Stacey) Kershner of Plain Township, Jason (Kim Luxeder) Kershner of Fairlawn; grandchildren, Wolfgang Wachtel and Kaylah Kershner.

Funeral Services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave N., Canton with celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 10-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to the Stark County Humane Society.
