James J. "Jim" Dittmore, OFS, age 77, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Jim was born on July 3, 1938 in Little Flower Hospital on 15th St. N.W., Canton, to his late parents James and Helen R. (Bond) Dittmore. He spent most of his life as a salesperson. Jim became a Franciscan of the Third Order and in later years, was inactive, due to health. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen S. Dittmore; children, John A. (Cynthia) Dittmore, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Christophe) Dittmore-Molitor, Christina "Tina" (Frederick) Schuster and James M. (Lisa) Dittmore; grandchildren, Aaron Dittmore, Anthony Hardy, Taylor Dittmore, Emily Hardy, Danielle Schuster and Christophe's sons, Adrien and Antoine Molitor; great-grandson, Tristan Smith; two sisters, L. ("Lisa") Appelbaum of Cleveland and Joan (Blaine) Schwartz of Getzville, N.Y. and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Santa Clara Monastery with Fr. Isaiah Bugrhu, A.J. as officiant. A private entombment with military honors will be in the Forest Hill Mausoleum with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as officiant.
