James E. Robinson of Rootstown, OH, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on August 21, 2013, at the age of 75. He was born in Calhoun, Tennessee on August 31, 1937, to Will and Sarah Ella (Goodman) Robinson and married to Dolores O'Neal Robinson for 27 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother William Robinson, sisters Nell Armstrong, Sue Duggan and Edna Robirds, granddaughter Sarah Snead. Along with his wife Dolly, he is survived by brothers: Don, Ron, and John Robinson, sisters: Myrtle Duggan, Jean Sain, Mary Baker, and Margaret Benchoff. He was a faithful father to: Tammy Duecker (Mike), Maria Snead (Bart), Tracy Coblentz (Dave), Kimberly Gallo (Sean) and loving grandfather to: Cameron (Becca) and Rachael Duecker, Joshua and Caleb Snead, David, Jr., Joel and Zachary Coblentz, Jessica and Kathryn Gallo, many nieces, nephews & cherished friends. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas 3/13/61 to 2/28/67 as a medical specialist with a Sharpshooter good conduct medal and was honorably discharged. He completed Basic Training Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy and auto/diesel mechanics training. His employment included: Huszar Construction, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Field Local Schools and Bridgestone Firestone for 31 years. He was a member of Portage Community Chapel (PCC) in Ravenna, Ohio, holding positions of deacon, trustee, and in many missionary outreaches as well as AWANA. Calling hours are Friday 6-9 PM at Portage Community Chapel, 6490 State Rt. 14 in Ravenna. Funeral services are Saturday 10 AM in the church with Pastors Barry Shahan and Mark Miller officiating with viewing Saturday 9-10 AM in the church. Final resting place is Hillside Memorial Cemetery.
