Obituary

JAMES ROBERT (BOB) DUNCAN His guiding philosophy was "Do more than your share". He died Dec. 17th at age 65 after a valiant battle with Waldenstrom's Macroglobulemia. Over the past eight years he learned and shared his knowledge with others about this rare lymphoma. He has been grateful to Dr. Dina Rooney and the infusion nurses at Aultman Hospital for their care over this whole time. Bob was Vice president of Systems for Smyth Systems, where he developed point-of-sale software capable of running all aspects of golf and country clubs as well as other retail businesses. Born in Long Beach CA, he grew up in Portland, OR. He loved gardening and transformed the yard of his home into a park-like setting with perennial flower beds, trees, walkways, an arbor and an herb garden. His favorite thing to do was to drive his Austin Healy Sprite on warm evenings with the top down enjoying the people who waved to him. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol, of Canton, his daughters Christie and Kate, grandchildren, Moxie and Ezra all of Philadelphia PA, and sister Carrie Duncan of Palm Desert, CA. At his request, the family is planning a small private service. Memorial donations in his name can be made to International Waldenstroms Macroglobulemia Foundation, at IWMF, 3932D Swift Rd., Sarasota, FL 34213 (Arnold, Canton 330-456-7291) www.arnoldfuneralhome.com
