James E. Doebereiner, age 68, of Canton died on Saturday evening in Aultman Hospital following a valiant battle against cancer. Born in Marietta, OH Jim had resided here most of his life. A graduate of Tri-State College and Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program he began a career with the Timken Company on June 11, 1956 as a draftsman. On June 11, 2001 after 45 years he retired as Director of New Products Development Bearings at Timken Research. An Elder and Trustee he was presently a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Lathrop Lodge # 376, AASR Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple, American Society Quality Control Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, 50 year member of Sportsman Shooting Center, Ohio State Skeet Assoc., National Skeet Assoc., Amateur Trap Shooting Assoc, and was known to be an avid golfer and outdoorsman. Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years Judith A. (Blazer) Doebereiner of the residence. Daughter: Mrs. William (Barbara) Poole of Centreville, VA. Son: Robert (Marcia) Doebereiner of Lewis Center, OH. Four grandchildren: Amanda, James, Matthew and Blake. Sister: Mrs. Paul (JoAnn) Moffat of Canton. Brother: George (Marilyn) Doebereiner of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wendy L. Bausman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 9 P.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas Street, W.
