James F. Baxter, age 70, of Alliance passed away on Thursday January 5, 2017. He was born in Akron on June 17, 1946 to the late Clyde and Edna (Bergdall) Baxter and recently retired from Akron Schools as a Asst. Custodian. A Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era and Army Veteran of Desert Storm, James was also a member of American Legion Post 166 in Alliance.

He is survived by his sons Matthew of Alliance, Phillip of Holland, MI; brother Bill (Connie) of Howland; and sister Angelia (Tim) DeLauder of Canal Fulton.

Services are Thursday 1:00 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville with Pastor Dale Gruver officiating. Calling hours one hour prior 12-1 PM. Final resting at Hillside Memorial Park.
