Obituary

James E. Bargerstock, age 65, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus January 1, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest of 6 children born on July 28, 1943 to Orville and Mildred (Gilbert)Bargerstock in Carmichaels, PA. He was a longtime resident of Hartville and a member of Bethany Mennonite Church. After retiring for medical reasons from Ford Motor Company in 1981, he volunteered at Hartville Hardware. Jim's "coworkers" at the store became his extended family and he enjoyed many fulfilling years there. The family wishes, on Jim's behalf also, to extend a special thank you to the Howard Miller family for all the years of their wonderful generosity and support. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Lynne, infant daughter Tracy, his parents, sister Shirley and brother Junior. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage, 2 brothers Ron and Chuck, and sister Audrey Davidson. In addition, he is survived by 5 children, their spouses, and 6 grandchildren. Son Jeff (Cindy) Bargerstock, and children Rachelle, Alex, and Janelle. Son David Bargerstock and his son Kyle. Daughter Monica (Scott) Goodspeed and their children Dylan and Taylor. Daughter Sharla (Stephen) Magee. Son Chad (Holly) Bargerstock. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Pastor Dave Slabaugh for all his wonderful care, support and guidance throughout this difficult time. In addition, we would like to thank Drs. Hostettler, Hirsch, Decoy, Kimbell and Rodocoy for the excellent medical care dad received and for the kindness and compassion each physician showed dad and our family. Finally, we sincerely wish to thank the nursing and respiratory staffs of 10 Main, ICU and 2 Main at Mercy Medical Center and the staff at Altercare of Hartville. Calling hours will be held Saturday (TODAY) January 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be Sunday January 4th at 2 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church.
