Jackie E. McLeod

Oct 8, 1933 — Oct 1, 2026

Jacqueline E. “Jackie” McLeod, age 93, passed away on October 1, 2026.

Born on August 8, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to the late Nathan and Nancy (Abdullah) Joseph; She was a true force of nature—quiet but fiercely authentic, and entirely unforgettable. Jackie believed that honesty was the only policy, even if it stung a little. Yet, her sharp wit and zero-filter personality were always beautifully wrapped in an unshakeable optimism.

Through every trial, health battle, or personal setback, Jackie always remained positive. Her ability to smile through life’s toughest storms with absolute courage was nothing short of inspiring."

Jackie was a woman entirely ahead of her time. An avid, lifelong learner, she was always reading and exploring new horizons—especially when it came to her passion for organic gardening. Her sharp intellect and determination were on full display when, in her 70s, she proudly took and passed the test to become an American citizen.

That same drive and deep devotion were poured into her career and her family. She graduated from the Salem School of Practical Nursing and dedicated 20 years of compassionate service as an LPN at the former Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.

At home, she was the matriarch and ultimate rock for her family. Jackie spent decades looking after her loved ones, seamlessly transitioning from babysitting her grandchildren to pouring her high-energy love into her great-grandchildren, forever leaving a profound, positive influence on their lives.

She was also legendary for her cooking, bringing everyone together over her famous cabbage rolls, rice dressing, sweet pecan tassies, and even her homemade yogurt which has been a staple in her family for many years.

Jackie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Jennifer (David) Cain and Colleen (Joseph) Beasley; daughter-in-law Sandra L. McLeod; grandchildren Angela (Javier) Suarez, Erin (Ronald) Truman, Daniel (Kelsey) Cain, Molly (John) Curtiss, Andrew (Morgan) Beasley, Grant (Amanda) McLeod, Kayla McLeod; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family in Canda.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 60+ years, William McLeod and her beloved son William Scott McLeod; as well as 11 siblings.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 S Union Ave, Alliance, OH 44601.
