Jacob E. (Jake) Miller, age 90, of Hartville went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 8, 2014. He was born in Middlefield, Ohio on June 13, 1924 to the late Eli and Maggie (Troyer) Miller. Jake was a member of the Hartville Mennonite Church. He was a carpenter and then worked at the Hartville Hardware for 26 years. Preceded in death by his wife Mary J. Miller on June 15, 2003; son Lester J.; daughter Betty Howard; grandson Richard; great-granddaughter Crystal; great-great grandson Aiden; 5 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by children, Mary Gillman, J. Allen (Audrey) Miller, Walter Miller, Thelma (Warner) Jackson; son-in-law James Howard; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; brother Henry Miller and sisters Emma Miller, Betty Schmucker; Mary Ellen (John) Mullet, Sarah (Albert) Wagler; and sister-in-law Faye Miller. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartville Mennonite Church and an hour prior to services. Funeral services will be Thursday 11:00 AM in the church with Pastors Ross Miller and Henry Shrock officiating. Final resting place is the church cemetery.
