Jack O. Weimer, Sr. age 96, of Canton died in his residence on Friday, October 17, 2014 after an extended illness. Born in Canton to the late Otto and Hazel (Steiner) Weimer he was a life resident. A 1936 graduate of McKinley High School he was the retired owner of the H. R. Weimer Company. Jack was the first Chief of the Jackson Township Fire Department, was a founding member of the Canton Township Fire Department, also past president and founding member of the Myers Lake Sportsman's Club. Jack was also responsible for re-activating the fish hatchery and nursery at Lake Cable. In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his wife Doris, Son Jack, Jr., and his brother Gene. Survivors include a son: Robert Weimer of Alexandria, VA. Daughter-in-law: Karen Weimer of N. Canton. Four grandchildren: Michael (Kimberly) Weimer, Jonathan (Kristina) Weimer, Amanda (Tim) Rohs and Sheila (James) Mawdsley. Seven great grandchildren: Ainsley, Zoe, Erik, Annika, Rebekah, Ava and Grayson. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 710 Tuscarawas St., W. with Chaplain Cynthia L. Danals officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8. Fire Fighters Memorial Service will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Jack O.
