Jack "Jackie" Lee Dawson, age 84 of Canton, passed away Saturday July 23, 2016 in Green Meadows Nursing Home in Louisville. He was born October 31, 1931 in Cambridge, Ohio to Charles and Thelma Dawson.

Mr. Dawson owned and managed several service stations, most notably Auditorium Shell at 12th and Market Ave. Following retirement he did lawn care and maintenance at countless homes in the area. Jack was a member of Church of the Covenant, a Korean War Veteran and a member of Canton Lodge No. 60, F&AM.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dolores "De" Dawson; children Greg (Jeanie) Dawson of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Melanie (Melvin) Oliver of Canton, Lori Dawson and Michael LaBelle of Saratoga Springs, New York; Brian (Terry) Dawson of Santee, California; three grandsons Shawn Dawson, Michael (Sarah) Dawson, Andrew Dawson; two great granddaughters Georgi and Elah; and brother Denver Dawson of Florida. Preceded in death by his sister Betty Slasor and brother Richard Dawson.

Following cremation the family will receive friends Tuesday August 2nd 5-7:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton. A memorial service will be Wednesday August 3rd , 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hills Burial Park with Pastor Karen Wright officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Covenant or the Stark County Humane Society.
