Italia  Mimosa DeMatteis, age 89, of Canton, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022. Born in Villa San Tangelo, Italy to the late Joseph and Domenica Mimosa.  Italia was a loving mother and grandmother who will be truly missed.  She loved and enjoyed cooking her homemade Italian dinners and spending endless time crocheting hats and scarves. In addition to her parents Italia was preceded in death by sisters, Adelina Nardis and Filomena Aliberti, brother, Angelo Mimosa. Survivors include children, Clara DeMatteis, Mimi Dematteis Bird (Brian), Lori DeMatteis Sinnet (Ted), Ada DeMatteis Henke, Bob DeMatteis (Angela); 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Monday, February 7th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Family and friends may call 9:00am to 10:00am Monday in the Arnold & Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Avenue N.W. Procession will form at the church.
