Irene Fern Diller, age 93, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord comforted by family at her side on December 4, 2021. She was born in Goshen, Indiana on February 28, 1928 to the late John Henry Sr. and Barbara (Stutzman) Bender and married Reuben Henry Diller Jr. on November 2, 1951. Together they served under Rosedale Mennonite Missions for many years in numerous locations. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Chapel and enjoyed volunteering for the MCC Thrift Stores, Women's Aglow, Habitat for Humanity, Gideon's, Lake Center Christian School, Garrett County Hospice, and was a prayer warrior with Senior Intercessors.

Preceded in death by her parents; step-mother Mary Ann Helmuth Bender; husband Henry; infant son James; siblings Dorothy Yoder, Edith Mae Bender, Wilbur Bender, Joanna Bender and 2 infant siblings. She is survived by her children Barbara (Jerry) Miller, David (Mayela), Carol (Wendell) Miller, John (Mae), Sarah (Newton) Brenneman, Christine (Duane) Maust; 17 grandchildren Scott (Yadira) Miller, Stephanie (Jarrod) Miller, Jessica (Joe) Shrock, David (Christina) Diller, Reuben (Monica) Diller, Andrea (Brent) Schrock, Greg (Sarah) Miller, Joel (Kirsten) Diller, Allison (Peter) Lienert, Anne (Joshua) King, Isaac, Hannah, Faith and Judah Brenneman, Matthew (Christina) Maust, Andrew (Emily) Maust and Justin Maust;  28 great-grandchildren; siblings Melva (John) Yoder, John (Liz) Bender and Wilma Miller; and other relatives and friends.

Calling hours are Thursday Dec. 9, 2-4:30 PM at Cornerstone Community Chapel and funeral services begin promptly at 4:30 in the church with Pastor Ron Embleton officiating. On Friday Dec. 10, calling hours are 10-11 AM at Shiloh Mennonite Church in Plain City followed by a family burial in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators or Rosedale International.
