Irene Mary Connor, "Renie", age 97, passed away peacefully in her home on September 28, 2024. Renie was the most devoted, kind and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She is survived by her 3 children, daughters, Dr. Erin (Dr. Stephen) Mayfield, Mrs. Jamie (Dr. Doug) Fairchild, and son, Mr. James P. (Kassia) Connor II. She has 3 grandchildren, Keane and Mycah Fairchild, James Connor III and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. James P. Connor, her brothers Mr. Michael New and infant John New, and her parents Michael and Mary New.

Renie was a progressive young woman, eager to complete her college degree and become an elementary school teacher. She was an accomplished classical pianist and organist at the Hungarian Presbyterian Church. When she married, she decided to devote her life to raising her family and volunteering her talents in her community. She was a faithful Christian and member of the Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton for 50 years. She always supported the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Canton Women's Club. She loved to travel the world, enjoyed learning about different cultures and making international friends.

Renie loved everyone she met. She was selfless, always thinking of others. She had deep gratitude for the miracle of life, for her blessings and for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 3rd from 2-3:15 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 Tuscarawas St W, Canton, OH 44702. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Ben George officiating.

Private entombment will take place on Friday where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
