Ilene Carpenter, age 97, of Hartville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday January 26, 2019. She was born in Hiawassee, Georgia on August 15, 1921. Ilene worked at Congress Lake Country Club and at 356 Fighter Group Restaurant. She had a love for flowers and gardening and loved being outdoors. Ilene had a heart of gold, a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her children Joann Hall, Jerry (Susie) Carpenter, Lisa (Robin) Kelp; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband Merle; infant son Merle, son Pfc Clifford, daughter Carol Bower; and great-grandson Timothy Riffle.

Calling hours are Saturday 10:30 AM- noon at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services begin at 12 noon in the funeral home with Chaplain Karen Drennen officiating. Final resting place is Greentown Cemetery.
