Ida Ross, age 94, of Canton, passed away on Monday morning January 30, 2012 at Windsor Medical Center. She was born in Cleveland Ohio on May 21, 1917 to the late Isadore and Sarah (Savransky) Gordon. With her husband, Nathan, and daughters, they moved to Canton in 1952. They lived in Canton until moving to Madison, Wisconsin in 1962. Retiring in 1990, they came back to Canton. During retirement Ida and Nathan traveled and enjoyed being together. Most important to Ida was her family and she was called affectionately "Aunt Hykie". She was a member of Temple Israel and Temple Isarel's Sisterhood, a life member of Hadassah, and a member of Arrowhead County Club. The couple had resided at Windsor Medical Center for 4 1/2 years and had spent 74 years of marriage together. Preceded in death by her husband Nathan on September 27, 2011; 5 brothers Meyer, Morris, Ben, Sam and Al Gordon and a sister Fay Logan. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Bev and Eldy Gross of Canton, Judy and Irving Sinkoff of Cherry Hill, NJ; grandchildren Scott (Grace) Gross of Las Vegas, Nev., Dr. David (Nancy) Gross of Schererville, Ind., Jimmy (Katie) Gross of Deerfield, Ill, Dr. Michael Sinkoff of Cherry Hill, NJ; great-grandchildren Samantha, Rachel, Elly Gross, Lily and Parker Gross; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are Tuesday 1:00 PM (Today) at the Arnold Funeral Home with Rabbi Jon Adland and Rabbi John Spitzer, Emeritus officiating. Final resting place is North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel or a charity of your choice.
