H. Paul Pierce, 93 of Canton, passed away March 29, 2017. He was born June 23, 1923 in Pittsburgh to the late Howard Mason and Adah (Korb) Pierce. Paul was raised in Bridgeport, CT, and while attending the University of Connecticut, was called to serve our country in WWII. He was a Second Lieutenant B-17 Co-Pilot in the 8th Army Air Force and from England, flew 27 bombing missions over Germany. At the end of the War, Paul married his high school sweetheart, Patricia J. Reynolds, and completed his BA in Business Administration at UConn. In 1950, he earned his MBA from The Ohio State University. After 35 years of service, Paul retired from The Timken Company as Asst. Chief Inspector of Quality Control. Paul was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, having served on the Board of Deacons; senior member and Vice Chairman of the Akron - Canton region of the American Society for Quality Control; Boy Scout Leader (Troop 37) and Civic Service Chairman of the McKinley District, Buckeye Council, Boy Scouts of America; Canton Lodge #60, Free and Accepted Masons; Scottish Rite; National Sojourners; and longtime member of the Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. Paul was preceded in death by Patricia, his wife of 50 years. He is survived by his daughters Linda (Hal) Ross, Seattle; Jackie Pierce, Akron; son Doug (Janet) Pierce, North Canton; his dear long-time friend and companion, Anne Dulabahn; grandchildren Amy (Brian) Gordon and Brad (Rachel) Ross, Seattle; Jennifer (Michael) Pierce, Pepper Pike; Emily Pierce, New York City; and Andrew (Nicole) Pierce, Canton and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Saturday, May 20th, 11:00 am, in the Chapel at Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Eldon Trubee officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Private interment will take place at the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum with the U.S. Air Force performing Military Honors. The family would like to thank the nurses of Aultman-Woodlawn Hospice and extends a special thank you to the caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care of North Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul's name to Christ Presbyterian Church, 530 Tuscarawas Street West, Canton, Ohio 44702; Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086; BSA Local Troop or the charity of your choice.
