Herbert Schrade, age 82, passed away Friday morning January 9, 2015, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Schrade and sister Ruth Coyle. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Helen Jean; his two sons David (Barb) of Louisville and Scott of Cuyahoga Falls; his three grandchildren Adam, Bryan and Erika Schrade; Brother John (Clara) of North Canton; Niece Karen (Jerry); Nephews Gary Schrade, Mark (Delta) Schrade, David (Joanne) Coyle, Steve (Bobbi) Coyle and Jim Coyle. Herb graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1952. He retired from Timken Mercy Medical Center after 37 years as head groundskeeper. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served with the Engineering Corps in Germany from 1953 to 1955. Herb was known for his sense of humor, his dedication to his church where he served as Sunday school teacher and usher, and also his love of sports and the outdoors. He was a wonderful husband and a proud father of his two sons. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends and relatives may call Wednesday, January 14th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and also on Thursday, January 15th one hour prior to his services from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Church.
