Henry (Ed) Spangler, age 77, of Canton, passed away Thursday night, December 31, 2009 in Mercy Medical Center. Ed was born on January 15, 1932 in Gray, PA to the late Daniel and Ethel (King) Spangler. He graduated from Sommerset High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. Ed was a member of the Chapel in Marlboro. He retired from Union Metal and also from the Avondale School System. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Arola (Fawver) Spangler. Three daughters and sons-in-law Evelyn and David Johnson of Canton, Carolyn and Joel Paule of Wenatchee, WA, Valerie and Steve Hoffman of Marlboro Six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held in Marlboro Cemetery with Rev. Joel Cochran officiating. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die".
