November 16, 1929 – October 31, 2018
Henry Ervin Miller – age 88 - of Hartville, passed away Wednesday Oct 31,2018, at the residence from an extended illness. He was born to the late Eli and Maggie (Troyer) Miller, on November 16,1929. On September 26,1957, he married, Mary S. Yoder, who preceded him in death in July 2006.
Henry is survived by six children: Esther (Lee) Kurtzman, of Canton, Ohio; Paul (Elizabeth) Miller, missionaries in Ukraine; Ruben (Kathryn) Miller, of Fredonia, Kentucky; Joseph (Jean) Miller, of Hillsville, Virginia; Peter (Julia) Miller, of Sarasota, Florida; and Simon (Elaine) Miller, of Hartville, Ohio. Four sisters: Betty Schmucker, of Hartville, Ohio; Emma Miller, of Hartville, Ohio; Mary Ellen (John) Mullet of Parkman, Ohio; Sara (Albert) Wagler, of Cochranton, Pennsylvania. One brother-in-law, Andy Mast, of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers: Catherine Miller, Elizabeth McCort, Jacob Miller, Manass Miller, Fannie Geiser, Dorothy Carmer, Barbara Mast, and Melvin Miller; and one great grandchild, Heidi Yoder.
Henry was a life-long resident of Hartville and worked at F.E. Schumacker Company for fifty-two and a half years; retiring at the age of 78, when the company closed its doors in 2008.
To Many locals he was known as, "the little old Amishman that drives the little red tractor around town." But for the last couple years he couldn't anymore because of having had a stroke in August of 2015.
We would like to thank the community, friends, neighbors, and everybody that helped in any way during this time.
We especially would like to thank Crossroads Hospice, for their caring and loving way of taking such good care of dad/grandpa. You did a super job.
We also thank Dr. Jon Seager, for his help in taking care of dad.
Calling hours are Sunday November 4,2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, with the funeral being on Monday November 5, 2018 at 10 o'clock in the morning, all at Cornerstone Mennonite Church. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
