Helen R. Tschantz went to be with the Lord in Aultman Hospital, January 4, 2009. She was born in Harlem Springs, Ohio, May 16, 1924 to Charles and Floy (Knox) Willett. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1942 and Houghton College, Houghton, NY in 1946. She taught history at Minerva High School for 6 years and was librarian and English teacher at Jackson Local Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1982. She was a church organist for 30 years, serving at McDonaldsville St Paul U. M. Church and First Baptist in Massillon and many others in Stark County as a substitute. Helen was a member of McDonaldsville St. Paul U.M. Church, American Guild of Organists and Ohio Retired Teachers Association and attended Grace Bible Church. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Martin, and a daughter and son-in-law Janet and Nicholas Barkas, two granddaughters Elizabeth and Julianna Barkas of Jackson Township, brothers Clyde (Velma) Willett of Minerva and Hobe Sound FI; Ray Willett of Phoenix, AZ; Earl (Betty) of Holiday, FL; Donald (Ann) Willett of Tallmadge, OH; two sisters Mary Sell of North Canton and Pauline (Ray) Champer of Mount Vernon, OH and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to the Palliative Care Unit at Aultman Hospital for their love and caring for her and her family. Funeral service will be Wednesday 11:00 A.M. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Rev. Erv Urschitz and Rev. Michael Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call on Tuesday (today) from 4 to 7 P.M.
