Helen Schneier, age 87, of Canton, passed away Thursday morning June 11, 2009 in Windsor Medical Center. Born in Canton on September 3, 1921 to the late Louis and Anna (Sabroff) Weintraub, Helen was a 1939 graduate of McKinley High School and a bookkeeper in Canton for many years. She was a member of Shaaray Torah Synagogue. Preceded in death by her husband Leon Schneier on January 6, 1997; she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Dee Dee and Steve Weisbrod of Minnetonka, MN, Pamela and Marc Gertz of Akron; two sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Rosena Schneier of Wayland, MA and Lance and Sue Schneier of Dublin, OH; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday (TODAY) at 1:30 PM in the Canton Hebrew Cemetery with Rabbi Steven Grundfast officiating. Memorials may be made to Shaaray Torah Synagogue or Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care. The family will observe Shiva Friday evening at the Gertz's Residence, 4311 Bridle Trail, Akron, OH 44333.
