Helen J. Harding, age 86, of Hartville went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning August 1, 2006 after a brief illness. Born in Suffield on September 24, 1919 to the late Dennis and Cora (Hershberger) Steffy, she was a graduate of Hartville High School. Helen had been a clerk for the Village of Hartville for 24 years from 1960-1984. She helped at the Hartville Locker, a business her father founded, and had helped her husband in real estate. An active member of the Hartville Church of the Brethren, she was a lifetime Deacon and sang in the choir. She was member of Hartville Sorosis, AARP and former member of City of Flags Chorus. Helen loved playing cards with her friends. Preceded in death by husband, Maurice in January 1991; she is survived by her cousins including Lorna Moore of Hartville and Cora Oswald of Hartville; and other friends and relatives. Friends may call Friday 1 hour prior to services (10-11 AM) in the Hartville Church of the Brethren. Funeral services are Friday 11:00 AM in the church with Pastor Tobin Crenshaw officiating.
