Hazel M. Werstler, age 96, of St. Luke Lutheran Community, North Canton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 2, 2018. She was born in Marlboro Township on August 18, 1921 to the late Dwight and Rebecca (Immel) Eshelman and graduated from Marlboro High School in 1939. She married Gerald C. Werstler on July 6, 1941. She was a member of East Nimishillen Church of the Brethren and the Marlboro Sunshine Club. Hazel had a kind heart and will always be remembered for helping others.
She is survived by her children Blaine Werstler of Canton, Denver (Joan) Werstler of Canton, Karen (Dr. Thomas) Robinson of North Canton; grandchildren Brian Werstler of Columbus, Matthew Robinson of North Canton, Mitchell (Rachel) Robinson of Massillon, Marshall (Erica) Robinson of Baltimore, OH; 5 great-grandchildren David, Addison, Clare, Alivia, Wyatt; brother and sister-in-law Junior and Etheleen Werstler of North Canton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Gerald; brothers Clyde, Raymond (Ethel) and Bob (Beryl) Eshelman and sister Wilma (Robert) Broemsen.
Calling hours are Friday, April 6th, 1-2 PM at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services begin Friday 2 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Carol Kuryn officiating. Final resting place is East Nimishillen Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to East Nimishillen Church, 2650 Nimishillen Church Rd., NE, Canton, OH. 44721. The family extends appreciation to the staff at St. Luke's and to her church family.
