Hazel M. Apenzeller, age 80, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 8, 2017 in the comfort of her home. She was born on November 7, 1936 in Ripley, WV to the late Wendell and Helen (Casto) Morris. Since her mother died when she was 2 years old she was raised by her aunt Orza and uncle Lawrence Sturm. She met Peter Apenzeller when she was 15 and they married on November 15, 1953. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. She retired from Kmart, was a floral designer and was active with the Ladies Auxiliary No. 63 (US Postal Service Branch #148). She loved pets, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.
Survived by her husband Peter; children Donna (Denny) Yoder, Debbie (Neal) Slabaugh, Denise (Steve) Gatrell, David Apenzeller, Darla (Steve) Snyder; grandchildren Katie, Andrew (Stephanie), Dennis, Amber, Aaron, Andrea, Megan, Zachary, Johnathan, Noah (Leslie), Cory (Kasey) and Matthew; great-grandchildren Olivia, Natalie, Levi, Gabriel, Isaac, Malina, Oliver and twin girls arriving soon; siblings Ronald Morris, William Morris, Patricia Fouty; card club "Sisters"; and special niece Rhonda. Preceded in death by her sisters-in-law Louise, Blanche and Laurene.
Calling hours are Friday 9:30-11 AM at Evermore Community Church with services beginning at 11 AM. Final resting place is East Nimishillen Church Cemetery. "Proverbs 31:28"
