IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harry Jay
Solenthaler
June 22, 1960 – February 21, 2025
Harry Solenthaler passed peacefully on February 21, 2025 surrounded by the comfort and love of his family.
Born on June 22, 1960 to Joann and Dean Solenthaler, Harry grew up in Canton, Ohio.
He met the love of his life, Cynthia, at Ebenezer's Restaurant in the 1980s and married her on September 20, 1985. They shared 36 wonderful years together.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Joann Solenthaler, his sister, Sheryl Bobkoskie, and his wife, Cynthia (Malavite) Solenthaler. He is survived by his daughter, Demetria (Bob) Soles, his precious granddaughter Sienna; brothers Dean Solenthaler and Eddie Solenthaler; step-grandchildren Kristin Friend (Greg Friend), Rob Soles (Ashley Soles) and Dylan Soles (Briana Soles) and numerous nieces, nephews (whom which were all his favorites) and cousins.
Harry's love language was acts of service. He was content just to help his family and friends with anything they needed. If the lawn needed mowed or the cars needed a wash, Harry would be there bright and early with a fresh McDonald's coffee in hand. Even though he was missing four fingers on one hand, you knew he'd still find a way to get the job done.
Pages upon pages of books could be filled with stories about Harry. To know him, was to have a funny story about him. There aren't enough words to convey how much his sense of humor will be missed. He was both intentionally and unintentionally hilarious. Simply put, there will never be another like him.
While his personality was larger than life, his heart was even bigger and he gave it all to his family. His late wife, Cynthia, daughter Demetria, son-in law, Bob, and granddaughter, Sienna, were his entire world and he loved them fiercely, even when they gave him a hard time about eating too many sweets. Every second he got to spend with them was a precious gift that he appreciated more than anything.
One of Harry's favorite things to do was cruise the town in his son-in-law's classic Chevelle. He would pull on his favorite beanie hat, crank up the music and drive around with no destination in mind. While he will be dearly missed, it gives his loved ones peace of mind to know that even though he's no longer with them, he's out there somewhere, driving that Chevelle with a smile on his face and a clear destination in mind. . . . he's finally going home.
Consistent with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family will celebrate Harry's life this Spring with a special ride in that Chevelle to Cynthia's grave to spread his ashes.
