Obituary

Harry J. Feaser Age 90, cherished husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was called home to the Celestial Lodge above on June 2, 2014. Born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Harry L. and Nellie (Grimme) Feaser on April 28, 1924.He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Paul and his sister Dorothy Uhrick. He is survived by the girl of his dreams, his beloved wife of nearly 73 years, Mary E. (Phillips) Feaser (aka Tiger), a daughter Joy (Chuck) Waterman of Naples, FL, and son Paul (Sue) Feaser of Jackson Township, OH, three grandchildren Kim (Sam) Basta of Hudson, OH, Jeff (Paula) Waterman of Schaumburg, IL and Paul III (Kate) of Chicago, IL, five great-grandchildren Baxter, Miranda, Benjamin, Katherine and Alexanderand a sister Marjorie Bennett of Fort Wayne, IN. He served his country as a member of the 9th Armored Division in World War II before starting a career in sales. He advanced to the position of executive vice president of the Mail Pouch Chewing Tobacco Co. (WV), president of the Whitehall Pipe Company (NJ), president of Helme Products (NJ), president of E.B. Design (Massillon, OH), and president and owner of A.E. Stocker Tobacco (Canton, OH) before retiring. Always a sportsman, in his prime he carried a 200+ average in bowling, was an avid fisherman earning a Manitoba Master Angler certificate, and was a near scratch golfer making several holes in one and two double eagles in a golf career that spanned nearly 70 years allowing him to shoot his age on many occasions. He followed the tenants of Freemasonry throughout his life and was a proud member of Canton Lodge #60 and the AASR Valley of Canton. He will always be remembered as a brilliant and driven man focused on the welfare of his family and will be missed by many. His family asks that he not be mourned but that his life be celebrated. Funeral service will be 2:00 Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home - 420 West Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, IN. Calling hours will be one hour preceding the service with a Masonic service at 1:30 and a veteran's service at the Lindenwood Cemetery where the internment will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harry's name to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2551 - 55th St. NE, Canton, OH 44721 or The Children's Dyslexia Center, 836 Market Ave. North, Canton, OH 44702.
