Harry I. Armstrong, age 92, of Hartville, went home with the Lord on Wednesday night August 3, 2011 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canton on March 24, 1919 to the late Robert and Florence (Dodge) Armstrong and graduated from McKinley High School. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. Harry retired from the Hoover Co. as an Art and Photo Supervisor. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. He was an award winning water colors artist. His hobbies included building guitars and telescopes and he was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 53 ½ years Gloria (Storch); children Linda (Ronnie) Melegari of West Salem, William (Gloria) Duell of Jackson Township, Deb Mason of Louisville, Connie Duell of Jackson Township, Michele (fiancé Rod Newlin) Steen of Hartville; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, one brother and one sister. Calling hours are Monday 11AM-12 noon at the Arnold Funeral Home. Funeral services are Monday 12 noon in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Cheyney officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
