Harriett Ellen Higgins "Peany" age 84 passed from the care and warmth of her family and joined her late husband James to walk with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009. Born in Salisbury, PA on July 13, 1925, she was a 45 year resident of Canton, OH. The matriarch of a large family, a wife, mother, grand mother and great grandmother, she will be missed by many and thought of often. She is preceded in death by her father Samuel Showalter, her mother Mabel (Beynon) Showalter, husband James Higgins, daughter Tammy Saler, brothers and sisters Richard, Sam, Fred, Linda, Jean, Mary Lee, Elinor and Eddie. She is survived by sisters: Felicia, Susie, and Hazel. Sons: Charles Saler, Randy (Renee) Saler. Daughters: Judy Hoover, Cathy (Dan) Hussar, Vicky Saler, Terry (John) Danner, Sandy (Dale) Taylor, grandchildren: Bobby (Vi) Evans, David Evans, Danny Hussar, Ritchie (Krista) Hussar, Tracy (Todd) Miller, Jill (Michael) Nemeth, Charles L. Saler (Elissa), Jordan Robinson, Bradley Saler, Ryan Saler, Audrey Saler, Harrison Saler (Michele), Todd Taylor. Great grandchildren: Brittany, Cory, Bo, and Brandon Evans, and Dylan Miller. Great grandpuppies: Cassy & Rusty. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Mercy Medical Center Home Hospice Unit and Dr. Julie Oberly for their excellent and sensitive care and guidance. There will be a private family service conducted by Canton Police Chaplain Kenneth Pugh immediately followed by burial in North Lawn Cemetery.
