Harold James Machamer of North Canton, age 93, died on Friday, July 6 in Canton, OH. Harold was the son of David and Emma Machamer of Hartville, OH, and he was a life-long resident of Lake Township. Harold was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, Martha; sons Kenneth and Terry; siblings Malvern Machamer, Vernon Machamer, Donald Machamer and Florence Machamer Heiser. He is survived by his son Steve (fiancée Lori Kramer) of North Canton; daughter-in-laws Judi Machamer of North Carolina and Tamra Machamer of Florida; grandsons Troy (Ruth) Machamer of North Carolina, Bryan (Lauren) Machamer of Florida, Steven Machamer of Louisville, OH; granddaughters Tracy (Tim) Elsass of Connecticut, Kelly Machamer of Florida, Kasey Machamer of North Canton, OH, Johanna Machamer of North Carolina; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was a life-long member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, where he served on the Council, Property and Finance committees and numerous building committees. Harold was also active in with the Lake Township Senior's Center and an avid euchre player. For many decades Harold served on the St. Jacobs Cemetery Association Board of Directors. He was a gifted cabinet-maker and wood-worker as well as an ardent gardener. A service celebrating the lives of Harold and Martha Machamer will held at St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, on Thursday, July 12th at 2pm. The family will receive callers in the St. Jacob's Atrium from noon - 2pm on the 12th. St. Jacob's is located at 1460 State St. NE, North Canton, OH.
