Obituary

Guido J. Polsinelli, age 83, of Canton, peacefully passed away on Friday morning June 27, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Robertsville, Ohio on January 12, 1925 to the late Dominick and Concetta (Trimarco) Polsinelli, attended McKinley High School, and proudly served in WW II Co. B-171st Combat Engineer, Survivor of D-Day, Awarded American, European, Middle Eastern Medals with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct and WWII Victory Medals. After an Honorable Discharge, he worked for Ford Motor Co. for 42 years retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of VFW, and a member of St. Michael the ArchAngel Church. Guido loved to watch The Indians, The Browns and The Cavaliers, as well as, political and current events on TV. He was the ultimate craftsman and machinist by trade. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (McClusky); 4 children Dominick (Barbara) of Alliance, Joseph (Joni) of Canton, Magdalene (Frank) Haidet of Huber Heights, Theresa (Mohammed) Al-Ali of Canton; sister Lucy Birone of Canton; sister-in-law Mary Polsinelli of Gates Mills; 11 grandchildren Keith (Lisa) Sigler of VA, Jennifer (Teri) Camden of GA, Joseph Sigler of Canton, Paul Haidet of FL, Cheryle Sigler, Carole Sigler both of Canton, Sara (Brett) Ewing of Huber Heights, Olivia Polsinelli of Hudson, Nicole (Brian) Becker, A.J. Al-Ali and Alex Al-Ali all of Canton; and 4 great-grandchildren Chance Ewing, Drew Ewing, Renton Ewing and Rachel Sigler. Preceded in death by 2 brothers Placido and August Polsinelli and 3 sisters Theresa Halter, Rosie Birone and Anna McElroy. Friends may call Sunday 4-7 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home, Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 11 AM at St. Michaels the ArchAngel Church with Fr. Benson Okpara celebrant. Final resting place is Calvary Cemetery.
