Obituary

Grace Gingerich, age 88, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 7, 2016 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Uniontown, Ohio on November 30, 1927 to the late Jacob and Fannie (Sommers) Miller. After marrying John E. Gingerich on November 12, 1950, she joined her husband working with refuges in Espelkamp, Germany under MCC and RMM. Upon returning to Hartville, she raised her children and was a pastor's wife at Bethany Mennonite Church. Her legacy and her passion to encourage others through prayer and fellowship will be remembered by those who have had the privilege of spending time with her.

Preceded in death by her husband Pastor John in 2010; son Philip in 2011; daughter Erika Smith in 2007; sisters Dorothy and Alta Miller, Marie Thomas; and brother Willis Miller. She is survived by her daughter Rhoda and Marvin Sommers of Hartville; daughter-in-law Sharon Gingerich of Plain Township; grandchildren Heidi Gingerich, Andy and Nikki Sommers, Paul and Angie Sommers, Patrick Smith; great-grandchildren Aria, Landon, Taylor, Kyle, Adison and Josie; siblings Calvin (Shirley) Miller, Catherine (David) Hartzler, Floyd (Edith) Miller, James (Pauline) Miller, Ruth Pankratz, Jacob Miller, Martin (Katie) Miller, Virginia (Juergen) Fenske, Glenn (Leanne) Miller, Irene Miller.

Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 PM at Bethany Mennonite Church. Final viewing is Thursday 9-10 AM and funeral services begin Thursday 10 AM in the church with Pastor Dave Slabaugh officiating. Final resting place is Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations are welcome to support the youth participating in the REACH discipleship training program. Donations may be made to Bethany Mennonite Church. Grace consistently encouraged the youth to follow God's calling.
