Gloria Ostergard Sinclair, age 86, of Canton, passed away Monday evening in her home after a brief illness. Born in Canton to the late Martin and Barbara (Mooney) Ostergard, she was a lifetime resident. Gloria was a 1945 graduate of Lehman High School and was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, golf, reading, knitting, and swimming laps at the Meyers Lake YMCA. She was known to her family as "Umma," and family was always number one. Umma stood firm on continuing family traditions, most notably for making Plum Pudding each year for Christmas, following the recipe of her own Umma. She joins her parents and siblings, Robert, Warren, Elaine, and Ellsworth. Gloria leaves behind her four children, Margie Andrews, George Sinclair III, Jamie Sinclair-Ramskogler, and Gigi (Derek) Somerville Zeedyk. Umma is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian, Colin (Amber), and Marty Andrews, Zak (Laura) Balbo, Spencer and Riley Sinclair, Elliot, Teddi, Scott (Morgan), and great-grandson Trace Ramskogler. Danielle Somerville and Hailey (TJ) Hon. Gloria is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her beloved pets, dog Jack, and cat Casey. In accordance with Gloria's wishes, calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M.in the Spiker-Foster- Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Wakonda c/o 530 Tuscarawas St. W., Canton, OH 44702. A graveside service will be held in North Lawn Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date. Please sign the guest book.
