GLORIA CAMPBELL LOGAN
Gloria Logan, 93, of North Canton, passed away on July 16, 2024, at Bethany Assisted Living surrounded by many who loved her.
"Glo" was born January 25th, 1931, to parents Russell and Kathryn Campbell and grew up in Upper Arlington, Ohio with her brother, "Butch" and sister, Sally. She graduated from The Ohio State University and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. There, she met her husband, Dick Logan, whom she was married to for nearly 64 years until his passing in 2016.
Dick and Gloria settled in North Canton where they spent many happy years raising their five children. Gloria assumed the role of "number one fan" in all family athletic endeavors, traveling around the country and world to watch her children compete everywhere from the football field to the Olympic Games.
In 1975, Dick and Gloria founded Logan Sports which is now owned by son, Andy.
Gloria served as the senior citizen's director at the North Canton YMCA for 20 years, setting up programs, activities and leading travel for seniors in the
community. While she worked there, she told a local newspaper, "I feel very fulfilled. I'm over-fulfilled. A lot of people my age are floundering and unchallenged. I think my jobs make me more interesting. My life is broader. I have a sense of accomplishment because I'm of value to somebody." Glo was also named to the North Canton Hall of Distinction in 1998 for her service to the community. Gloria's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by four of her children who will carry on her legacy of love and family devotion: Amy Walther, Jeff (Dena), Whitney (Karen), and Andy (Deidre). In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dick, son Jud (Jill), son-in-law Carl Walther, siblings Duncan and Sally and sister-in-law Marilyn Hellinger.
Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren: Katie, Christopher (Erin), Nathan (Cheryl), Jenna (Winston), Kirsten, Caroline (Caleb), Melanie,
Danny, Cameron, Taylor and Drew. She was the proud great grandmother of Peyton, Eloise, Charlotte, Mason, Declan, Lofton, Mia and Keegan.
Gloria is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Campbell. She was extremely proud of the establishment of the Logan Family Foundation started by her five children.
Gloria and the Logan Family would like to give a big thank you to Bethany Assisted Living for all of their compassion, care and expertise where many
good friends were made.
A celebration of Gloria's life will be held Sunday, September 1, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home 1517 Market Ave N., Canton, Ohio 44714 with Pastor Greg Linville officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 12 - 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Logan Family Foundation in her memory, 1144 S. Main St. North Canton, Ohio 44720.
