Obituary

Gloria C. Armstrong, age 90, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning July 20, 2013 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Canton on June 25, 1923 to the late August William and Esther (McNees) Storch and graduated from McKinley High School. She played in both the Massillon Swing Band and McKinley Marching Band. She was proud to be a "Rosie the Riveter" during WW II and had worked as a secretary for her father's business, Hartville Tool and Die. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Gloria, with her husband, Harry, enjoyed gardening and traveling. Gloria is survived by her children William (Gloria) Duell and Connie Duell all of Jackson Township, Michele (fiancé Rod Newlin) Steen of Hartville; step children Linda Melegari and Deb Mason; grandchildren Mark (Becky) Duell of Columbus and Mike (Lisa) Duell of Indiana; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 ½ years Harry Armstrong. Calling hours are Wednesday 11 AM- 12 noon at Arnold Funeral Home Hartville. Funeral services are Wednesday 12 Noon in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Cheyney officiating. Final resting place is Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
