Glenn C. Dowell, Jr. M.D., age 85, formerly of Canton, recently of Powell, OH died Saturday morning in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after an extended illness. Born in Huntington, WV to the late Glenn C. and Norma L. (Ferguson) Dowell he was a graduate of Carrollton High School, The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University School of Medicine. Dr. Dowell practiced anesthesiology at Mercy Medical Center for thirty five years. Dr. Dowell was also active in Boy Scouts having earned the Eagle Scout Award, and was an Air Force Veteran. Survivors include his wife of sixty two years: JoAnn (Garland) Dowell, daughter: Sue Ann Dowell, two grandchildren: J. Tyler (Sarah) Schott and Glenn Chandler Schott all of Powell, OH. Two brothers: Harold R. Dowell, M.D. (Bobby) of Naples, FL and Samuel C. Dowell (Mary Jo) of Canton. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave., N.W. with Pastor Barbara Dowell Winke officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
