Gertrude Lydia Maust Dutcher, 86, of Hartville, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, May 19, 2011. She died at home surrounded by family. She was born in Bay Port, MI on September 4, 1924 to Earl and Idella Maust. Gertrude spent a lifetime serving Christ and working alongside her husband Frank in ministry throughout their 62 years of marriage. They spent 9 years in missions in Bowling Creek, KY before their call to pastor the congregation at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Hartville, OH in 1957. She remained in Hartville until Frank's passing in 2006. She spent her remaining years in the home and care of her daughter Ruth in Columbus, OH where she attended Columbus Mennonite Church. Her passion for the "least of these" connected many to Christ and His Body over her lifetime. She was preceded in death by son David Dutcher and husband, Frank. She is survived by her children, Jonathan and Violet Dutcher of, VA, Ruth and Ajay Massey of Columbus, Dan and Barb Dutcher of Hartville, Naomi and Dan Leaman of FL and Titus and Deb Dutcher of Sugarcreek; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and siblings Elmer Maust, Cora Yoder, Glen and Erma Maust and James and Freda Maust, all of MI. Her family will always remember the twinkle in her eye and adventurous spirit! Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 2-4 and 6-8 at Maple Grove Mennonite Church and Monday prior to the service from 10-10:45. The funeral service will be Monday, May 23, at 11AM at Maple Grove Mennonite Church with Pastor Myron Weaver officiating. Walnut Grove Cemetery will be the final resting place. In lieu of flowers and to continue good works in Gertrude's name, memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee. Arrangements are being handled by Arnold Funeral Home.
