Geraldine "Gerry" E. Harbert, age 91, of Canton, passed away Sunday February 28, 2010 in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 8, 1918 in Canton to Herbert and Marie (Fraley) Kuepfer. Gerry worked at Mellett Mall for Village Clothing Store and Bountiful Harvest Health Food Store. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, graduated from Spencer Ohio High School and Canton Actual Business College. Mrs. Harbert was a member of St. Joan of Arc Rosary Society, was a Girl Scout leader, member of the Perry chapter of AARP and the McKinley Eagles. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Harbert in 1975. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dennis Close of North Canton; sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Harbert of Canton, Ronald and Agnes Harbert of Lincolnton, North Carolina; sister, Clementine Bourquin of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Betty Kuepfer of Grafton, Ohio; grandchildren, Kevin and Brian Close, Veronica (David Caldwell) Harbert and Christopher Harbert. The Family would like to thank Doctors Tirmonia, Utlak, Decoy and everyone at Mercy Medical Center for the excellent care Gerry received while there. A special thanks to Tiffany and staff at Sarah Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:00 a.m. in St Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. William Kraynak as celebrant.
