Gerald "Jerry" Domer, age 82, of Hartville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 18, 2009 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1927 in Louisville, OH to the late Earl and Hannah (Ruble) Domer. He was a graduate of Hartville High School where he excelled at basketball and baseball. He was a WW II Navy Veteran and attended Kent State University after serving in the military. Jerry worked with his father in the family business of TV and Radio repair. He also was the owner of the Western Auto Store for 20 years. Even after retirement, he continued to repair TV, radio and refrigeration equipment. When his boys were young, he was a Little League Coach. For 14 years, Jerry served on the Lake Township Zoning Board. He was president of the Lake Booster Club for many years and was a member of the Hartville Lions Club. Golf was his passion and he loved his work and the people at the Hartville Market Place. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mickey (Whittaker); children Jerry (Debbie) Domer of CO, Gary (Deb) Domer of Akron, David (Sherry) Domer of Hartville, Jim (Dana) Domer of Canton, Eric Domer of Hartville; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; brother Richard Domer of NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by brother Duane Domer. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday 11 AM in the Hartville Mennonite Church with Pastor Ross Miller officiating.
