Obituary
Georgia M.(Lazarides) Pavlis passed away on March 31, 2018. She was born October 3, 1925 in Canton, Ohio and was a life-long resident. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother "YiaYia", godmother,aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. She had a special love for her church
and all her friends through her years at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where she was a very active member, having served on the Parish Council, President of the Koraes Ladies Society for two terms and Co-chairing the Grecian Festival three times. She was also given the "Ecclesiastical Award" in 1988 by her peers from Holy Trinity. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Nick Pavlis; daughter, Ellen B. Romeo; son, John N. (Terry) Pavlis; grandchildren, Vincent J.J. Romeo, Nicholas C. Romeo, Diana Shimko, John Jason Pavlis, and Matthew (Hillary) St. Clair; six great grandchildren, Alayna Pavlis, Paige and Savannah Goss, April, Trent, and Gauge St. Clair; two god-children, Paula (George) Harrison and Ida (Mark) Sibert, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents,John & Helen Lazarides; sister,Despina "Peggy" Brown; brother and sister-in-law, George and Mary Lazarides; brother, Larry Lazarides; nieces, Joanne Simmer and Joan Newman; and nephew, Larry Lazarides r Jr. The Pavlis family would like to thank the nurses and aids at Noble Pond Altercare, Crossroads Hospice and Dr. Elena Norch for their loving and attentive care given her during her stay with them. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Georgia's love, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 4705 Fairhaven N.W.
