George H. Johnson, age 91, of Canton passed away in his home with his family by his side Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born September 24, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Ruth (Kennedy) Johnson. Following graduation from Bay Village High School, George enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. He then attended Miami University and entered a lifelong career in the paper industry. George enjoyed sailing and traveling across the world with family and close friends. He was known for his large personality and zest for life.

He is survived by his wife June and would have celebrated 66 years together in May; children Catherine Weist, George (Tammy) Johnson, and William (Linda) Johnson; grandchildren Kirk, Billy (Emma), Jimmy (Becky), Joey (Noel), Katie, Lauren, and Paige; great grandchild Lynn. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert, grandson Derek.

Following cremation, burial is taking place at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery on May 13, 2021 at 1:45 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
