Gary Stewart was born November 1, 1941, in Youngstown, Ohio, to R. Kenneth and Erna Coler Stewart and passed away on Friday, June 10. He graduated from The Ohio State University where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. After graduation he worked for the University's agronomy research program and then joined the O. M. Scott's research program in Marysville, Ohio. In 1972 he transferred to Scott's ProTurf division and moved to Canton, Ohio with his wife Stephanie that he met while they were students at Ohio State. In the 1980's Gary started Turf & Nursery supply which he ran until his retirement. He was a long-time member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Deacons and Camp Wakonda committees.

Gary is survived by his wife Stephanie, sons Brad (Melanie) and Chad (Jennifer); grandchildren Tate, Conner, Carson, Courtney, and Parker Stewart as well as his brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Marica in Bloomington, IN.

A private family service will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church with entombment to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Wakonda c/o Christ Presbyterian Church.
