Gary W. Merkle, age 68, of Akron formerly of Hartville passed away on Monday morning August 21, 2017. He was born in Canton on July 11, 1949 to the late Howard and Eileen (Tessmer) Merkle. He was a graduate of Lake High School and Bowling Green State University. He also received a Law Degree from the University of Georgia.

He is survived by his children Ed (Victoria) Merkle, Melissa (Kirt Lietzow) Merkle, Michelle (Keith) Brenstuhl; 3 grandchildren; sister Diane Krum; brother-in-law Tim Mishler. Preceded in death by sister Darlene Mishler and brother-in-law Fred Krum.

Cremation has taken place and memorials may be made to the Arnold Funeral Home of Hartville.
