Obituary

Gary A. Jeffcott, of North Canton Ohio passed away December 24, 2013, at the age of 58. Born in Covington Kentucky to Joseph and Agnes Jeffcott, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Gary graduated from Elder High School in 1973, attended Walsh (College) University and graduated from Miami University (Ohio) in 1977. He later went on to earn his MBA at Miami University (Ohio) in 1980. He worked at the J.M. Smucker Company for 32 years. Starting as an accountant, he went on to hold various positions and eventually became the Vice President and Managing Director of International. During his time at the J.M. Smucker Company, he was recognized twice with the Founder's Award. Gary also served on the North Canton YMCA Board of Directors and was recognized as volunteer of the year in 1998. He volunteered for North Canton City Schools, the North Canton Little League, and the North Football League. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish for 31 years where he volunteered for the Mathew 8:20 Homeless Ministry. Gary had many opportunities to travel the world but his favorite place was Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Patricia (Pat), daughter Tracy of Rockville Maryland and son Thomas of Columbus Ohio; sisters and a brother-in-law, Diana and Tom Greatorex of Burlington, Kentucky, Kathleen Jeffcott of Cincinnati; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Jeffcott, Robert Jeffcott both of Cincinnati, Ronald and Anne Jeffcott of Chillicothe, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Deanna Jeffcott and niece Joanna Jeffcott. The family is requesting donations be made to Mathew 8:20 Homeless Ministry of Little Flower Catholic Parish, North Canton YMCA Partner with Youth Campaign, or Elder High School Cincinnati, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday December 30th 11:00 AM at Little Flower Catholic Parish 2040 Diamond St NE, North Canton, OH 44721 with Father Edward Keck as celebrant. Calling hours will be Sunday December 29th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Little Flower Catholic Parish and Monday 10-11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in North Canton Cemetery.
