Gary G. Gatschet Sr., age 62, of Canton, passed away Thursday afternoon. He was born in Canton on July 16, 1947. Gary graduated from Glenwood High School and was a fifth grade elementary school teacher in the New Philadelphia City School System retiring in 2006. He was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Preceded in death by his father Eugene Gatschet. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra (Sickafoose) Gatschet; son Grant Gatschet of Canton; mother Eileen (Zaiser) Gatschet of Canton; sister Lanee Weisler of Hartville; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Arnold Funeral Home with Pastor Chet Harris officiating.
