Gaines D. (Jim) Rapp passed away peacefully on August 21, 2014 at the age of 76 years after a brief illness. He was a 1955 graduate of Louisville High School. He served his country in the Army from 1958 to 1961 attaining the rank of Specialist. He was the owner of Jim Rapp Construction and Residential Design Service for the past 45 years, designing and building many homes in Stark County and surrounding areas. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy; his son Dr. Jeffrey S. Rapp of Los Angeles, CA; and his brother Earl W. Rapp of Apache Junction, AZ; also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Ida Copley Rapp and Hobart W. Rapp of Louisville, OH; and sisters Emma Thorne of Mansfield, OH and Irene Belba of Alpharetta, Georgia. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services 10-11 AM Monday at Arnold Funeral Home, 1517 Market Ave N, Canton. Funeral services are Monday 11 AM in the funeral home with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park with military services being conducted.
