Frederick J. Vogt, 86, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. He was born on January 11, 1939 in Canton to the late Fred "Fritz" and Goldie (Steffen) Vogt.
A proud 1958 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School, Fred met and married the love of his life, Carol (Etter), with whom he recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Their bond was the cornerstone of a life filled with love, family, and laughter.
Fred will be remembered as a fun-loving man with a heart for others. He especially loved playing cards with his grandchildren, sharing laughter and stories that will be cherished forever. A passionate supporter of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Fred loved watching the games. He enjoyed sharing stories about the players and coaches he had the pleasure of meeting over the years—his enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. He was also an avid bowler and a dedicated member of various Masonic organizations, including Tadmor Shrine and Past Monarch of Nazir Grotto.
Fred served his country with honor in the United States Army and continued to serve his community as an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff in Stark County. He had been active in Scouting, Indian Guides, and Junior Achievement.
His professional life spanned over four decades in the ready-mix concrete industry, working for Huth Ready Mix and Diano Supply. Fred was active for many years in the Stark County Home Builders Association.
