Freda Gross, age 69 of Massillon, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Rose Lane Nursing Home. She was born, August 19, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Harry and Sarah (Harris) Rubin. She graduated from Peabody High School in East Liberty, Pennsylvania.

Freda was a Pre-School, Nursery School and Kindergarten School Teacher at the Canton Jewish Center. She was a member of Temple Israel, Hadassah and the Temple Sisterhood. She was a cancer survivor and participated in many Relay for Life events.

Freda is survived by her husband of 45 years Jerrold; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Jeremy Gides of Massillon; grandchildren, James and Jeremy Gides of Massillon; sisters, Ethel Matkso, Eva Warsawki, Esther McCallum, Beverly Rubin; brothers, Martin, Allen, Jack, David, Lenny Rubin. Preceded in death by sisters, Marlene, Beryl and brother Manny.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:30 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home in Canton with Rabbi Jon Adland officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
