Fred Douglas Arndt, age 84, of Akron/ Hartville, passed away Monday March 14, 2011. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on July 1, 1926 to the late Fred and Oteliah (Ransom) Arndt. He started his truck driving career in 1951 at Motor Cargo, Inc. and retired from Consolidated Freightways after 38 years. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling. Preceded in death by infant son Charles Ray; daughter Barbara Diane; son Douglas Eugene; mother of his children Mary Arlene Arndt; and three sisters Thelma Sherman, Myrtle Johnson, Estelle Ham. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Gary of North Canton, Brian Sr. of Green and James and Jennifer of Hartville; daughter-in-law Rebecca Arndt of North Canton; grandchildren Jameson (Sherry), Catlin, Brian Jr., Barbara, Alexandrea and Gabriella; and sister O'Dell Stemple of Randolph. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 PM at Hartville Mennonite Church and an hour prior to services on Thursday 10-11 AM. Funeral services are Thursday 11 AM in the church.
