Frank M. Vees, age 78, of Canton, passed away Sunday morning in St. Luke Lutheran Community, North Canton, after a short term illness. Born in Wheeling, WV to the late William & Frances (Junkins) Vees. Frank was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School & a proud Marine who served his country during the Korean Conflict. After retiring as a dispatcher with the Canton Water Department he enjoyed devoting his time as a North Canton School Crossing Guard. Frank was a lifetime member of the Canton American Legion Post 44 and the McKinley Detatchment 277 Marine Corps League. His dedicated coaching of young men was his competitive nature as his great passion and love for his dogs. Survived by his wife Martha of 53 years, sons; William "Bill" Vees of North Canton, Bret (Susan) Vees of Uniontown and Brad (Vickie) Vees of Canton, daughter; Brenda (Robert) Leeders of Louisville, Grandchildren; Ryan & Ashley Vees, Stacie Hicks, Sarah & Rachel Vees, Tracey Tingler, Sean & Chad Leeders & Kristina & Karly Vees, 8 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Friday in Little Flower Catholic Parish with Father John Zuzik officiant. The procession will form at the church. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Spiker-Foster-Shriver Funeral Home 4817 Cleveland Ave. NW. There will be a Red Coat Ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
